September 2026

LFG channel settings

In /setup-lfg-channel → Edit:

  • Separate LFG guide channel — post the guide and its buttons in their own channel, apart from the groups. Several LFG channels can share one guide channel.
  • Move guide to bottom— instantly, every 3 messages, or after 2 / 5 / 10 minutes of quiet, so it doesn't break up your chat.
  • Messages as group posts — turn every message into a group post, only messages from players in a voice channel, or never.
  • Finish at any step of the setup.

Any Game channel

No need to add every new game by hand. Set Any Game on an LFG channel and players name the game when they create a group, or pick Decide later. Once picked, the group is on the LFG Network like any other game.

One-press joins from lfghub.gg

Players sign in with Discord on the LFG Network page and land in your server and the group in one click. Each join shows in your reports channel.

Group owners

  • A ban follows the player, not the group — they can't join that owner's future groups.
  • Hide a group from the LFG Network in Group Moderation. NSFW groups stay off it.
  • Schedule up to 7 days ahead, and Close Group when done.

Also new

  • Group cards redesigned: filters show as labels with icons.
  • Smoother repeat group creation and Open to Join from the LFG guide.

LFG Channel Introduction

When nobody is searching, a player who launches the game gets a one-time DM introducing your LFG channel, so a quiet channel gets its first group going. It's never sent twice, and never to someone who has already used LFG on your server.

  • On by default, and uses your DM recommendations role if you set one.
  • Sent in your server's language.
  • Test it, turn it on or off, and see how many players it introduced and how many went on to use LFG in /setup-lfg-channel → Edit → DM Recommendations.

LFG Network

Groups and Open to Join players are live on the LFG Network. Groups stay hosted on your server and are recommended to matching players across the network. Turn it on in /setup-lfg-channel → Edit → Server Settings → Enable LFG Network.

Your own games, filters and options

Right from /setup-lfg-channel:

  • Add any game from the community game directory — including sandbox modes such as Roblox RP, Zombies or Modded.
  • Create your own filters (Mode, Rank, Playstyle…) and their options.
  • Filters that other servers adopt rise in the directory and match across the network.

Moderation tools

  • Report a player, not just a post — with a reason, details and the group chat transcript attached automatically.
  • The mod card shows the player's full record, with Warn or Restrict from LFG Bot.
  • /lookup, /case and /pardon to review records and lift restrictions.

Also new

  • Rename the Smart LFG Ping role — it keeps working under the new name.
  • Cap how many games a multi-game LFG guide lists before it says "and X more".
  • Edit a group voice channel's user limit from Voice Moderation.
  • Groups start in the voice channel their owner is already in when they use Create Group or /lfg.
  • Group threads are public by default (private is optional).
  • Faster group creation, a cleaner LFG guide, short game names in voice channels.
  • Edit / Stop controls in DMs for every Open to Join.
  • Fixed: LFG ping delivery, "Custom Size" group size, finished groups left searching, stale group cards.

Slash commands

LFG works from anywhere. Group posts go to the right LFG channel, and players can only LFG for the games the server owner selected.

  • /lfg (alias /create-group) — create a group to play now.
  • /lfg-schedule (alias /create-group-schedule) — plan a session up to 24 hours ahead.
  • /open-to-join — mark yourself 🙋‍♂️ Open to Join.
  • /help and /feedback — get guidance, or send a bug report with a screenshot.

Smart LFG Ping is back

  • Use your server's own opt-in LFG role, or turn role pings off entirely.
  • Switch between Auto-ping (default) and Manual ping, where group owners get a Send Ping button in their control panel.

Also new

  • Reserved slots — group owners reserve blank slots from Group Moderation for friends still loading in.
  • Contact opens a temporary private thread between two players, removed after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Customisable voice channel name pattern.
  • Redesigned schedule modal with a timezone dropdown.
  • Documentation for server owners.
  • Stability fixes.

June 2026

Discord approved LFG Hub for privileged intents — the 100-server limit is gone and every feature is back at full capacity.

  • Context-Aware Group Discovery is back for players who launch the game.
  • The LFG guide has two buttons again: an upgraded Looking for Group and Create Group.
  • Players who are 🙋‍♂️ Looking for Group can be grouped up by others via a voice channel or a private group chat on your server.
  • Matching players who are Looking for Group get invited by DM, so they don't have to watch the LFG channel, and similar players are grouped up with each other.

Multiple games in one LFG channel

One LFG channel can now serve several games — the most requested feature from server owners.

Simpler LFG flow

  • One Looking for Group button replaces the separate Create Group, Open to Join and Schedule buttons.
  • The player picks their filters and gets their own group thread, with suggestions of other groups on your server.
  • Other members discover and join the group; once it's formed they can create a voice channel.
  • Group owners have full moderation (kick / ban) from the thread and can schedule the group for later, with reminders.
  • The voice creator is unchanged.

February 2026

  • 📆 Scheduled groups — players can schedule groups on your server.
  • 🔔 Player-facing Notification Settings in your LFG channel.
  • 🔔 Smart DM Recommendations renamed to Game Launch Alert: pick which role it applies to, and trigger one yourself to preview the DM.
  • 🔗 Link server roles to LFG options, so Game Launch Alerts and Smart LFG Ping reach relevant players who haven't used LFG yet.
  • 🔊 Static voice channels revert to their original name and state after players finish.
  • ↕️ Searching and All Groups categories for big servers.
  • 🛠️ Faster game search in /setup-lfg-channel.
  • 🗑️ The LFG guide can no longer be hidden, so LFG stays easy to find on every server.

LFG Hub reached Discord's 100-server limit for unverified bots this month. It was lifted in June 2026.

January 2026

Voice channel controls

  • 🔒 Lock / Unlock in Voice Moderation.
  • 🦶 Kick and 🛑 Ban are separate buttons.
  • ⚡️ Premium host features: 👑 Transfer Ownership and 👥 Unlock User Limit. Get them for 7 days by upvoting the bot on top.gg. Basic LFG and voice moderation stay free.

Also new

  • 👍 Likes are back — no longer interrupting players mid-game, and liking the same player several times counts once.
  • 🗑️ Option to auto-remove completed group posts and expired Open to Join posts from the LFG channel.
  • 🙋‍♂️ Open to Join works on big servers with several LFG channels per game.
  • 📩 Smart DM Recommendations renamed to Context-Aware Group Discovery, with support for several LFG channels. Players can opt out any time with the 🔕 button.
  • Smart LFG Ping switched off, to return redesigned (it came back in July 2026).

In 2025 the LFG Network grew from one server to 60+, with support for any game, any LFG channel structure and almost any language.

December 2025

Voice channel controls

  • ⚙️ Change LFG settings from the voice channelin a few clicks. Changes are saved as the player's preference for their next game.
  • The control panel stays in place — less spam in the voice chat.
  • ✍️ The extra note shows in the status bar under the voice name and updates instantly, since Discord allows only 2 channel name changes per 10 minutes.
  • ⏱️ When Discord rate-limits a name change, the bot schedules it instead of asking you to try again, unlike other voice bots.
